Special Message from the CEO on 9/11/01

September 11, 2001

Contributed by CEO Message

Kamehameha's first responsibility is, of course, to our students. And to this end, we have made available to our faculty members educational guidelines for the classroom and for counseling provided by national experts. We are supportive of allowing students, faculty and staff the opportunity to discuss and understand this horrific event in an effort to cope with the resulting fear and apprehension. Please feel free to download these materials and use and share them. Go to www.familyinfoserv.com and click on "Families & Crisis". Another useful site is http://www.sesameworkshop.org/parents/advice/article/0,4125,49560,00.html. We also encourage parents to call upon school counselors or their family medical specialists for additional help with their students. Having spent much of my life working with children and families on the effects of and recovery from war, disasters and other traumatic life events, I have offered my professional and personal support as well. We pray for God's blessing on the survivors, their families and rescue personnel over the next few days as we join our nation in responding to this disaster. Sincerely, Hamilton I. McCubbin Chief Executive Officer
