Contributed by Kekoa Paulsen

Freshmen have a choice of competing in a 10K run or a 3000 meter swim. The 10K run will start at 8:30 a.m. on the grass area of Magic Island. Approximately 400 runners will participate and run around the park 3 circuits (6.2 miles). Sophomores will compete in a biathlon -- an 800 meter swim followed by a 4 mile run. The biathlon will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Ewa end of Ala Moana Park with swimmers in two heats, 10 minutes apart. Biathletes will exit the water at Magic Island, change into run gear and proceed around Ala Moana Park two times (4 miles). Freshmen swimmers will begin their 3000 meter swim 10 minutes after the second biathlon heat at the Ewa end of Ala Moana Park and finish at Magic Island.
