PLEASE DO NOT TAMPER!

April 20, 2001

Contributed by CEO Message

Even informal calls to check on an applicant's status for a friend or relative may be perceived as an attempt to influence the process. Such inquiries also place staff on the receiving end of the request in an uncomfortable position because they are required to report all such calls. Rule of Thumb: If you are not the applicant or the person legally responsible for the applicant, do not call or otherwise inquire as to the applicant's status. We have good selection processes in place and we have good people responsible for making sure our processes work. We need to support them by allowing them to do their jobs without interference. Mahalo.
