New Organization Chart

July 7, 2001

Contributed by CEO Message

No Title Changes -- During our discussion, the concept of changing our leadership titles to align more closely with academic titles, i.e., Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, etc. was seriously considered. However, because I sense there is now a clearer understanding within our organization that the CEO has overall responsibility for the KS education system, and will work in concert with the CEDO who will manage education operations, I do not feel title changes are needed at this time. Three Functions Re-assigned -- I do feel that there are three functions with which I need direct contact for most efficient and effective operations: Strategic Planning, Communications, and Policy Analysis and System Evaluation. Therefore, these three divisions now report directly to the CEO's Office. Additionally, two Advisory Boards will be convened to consult separately with the CEO and the Board of Trustees. Membership on these boards will be broadly solicited to provide comprehensive, outstanding counsel. Other organizational changes and affected work units are: 1. Post High Counseling, currently under Extension Education, transfers to Ke Ali'i Pauahi Foundation to support closer coordination with Financial Aid. 2. KS Press, currently under Ke Ali'i Pauahi Foundation, will also transfer to the CEO's Office. From the inception of our strategic planning process, your input and participation has proven invaluable. I ask for your continued support for the individuals and work units involved in this reorganization. Mahalo for your hard work and dedication to our institution.
