More than $90,000 in scholarships available through Ke Ali’i Pauahi Foundation

Over 20 scholarships for students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees are available. The Daniel Kahikina and Millie Akaka Scholarship, William S. Richarsdson Commemorative Scholarship, Myron and Laura Thompson Scholarship and the Kamehameha Schools Alumni Association – Northern California Scholarship are among those scholarships being offered for the 2006-2007 academic year.

A complete listing of scholarships and applications are available online at www.pauahi.org. Applicants who do not have a computer or internet access may call the Foundation at (808) 534-3966 for assistance.

Most scholarships are for individuals who are a classified, full-time student at an accredited institution; must be enrolled in a two- to four-year post-high degree program; demonstrate financial need (if applicable); and demonstrate satisfactory academic achievement and merit.

(Select scholarships are also available to individuals who are enrolled on a part-time basis, or attending an accredited vocational or trade institution).

Online scholarship applications with supporting materials must be received in the Foundation's office by 4 p.m., Friday, May 12, 2006.

The Foundation's policy is to give preference to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law.

Ke Ali'i Pauahi Foundation is a Hawai'i nonprofit corporation recognized as a 501(c)(3) charitable support organization of Kamehameha Schools. The Foundation's mission is to perpetuate the legacy of Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop by seeking and developing new and diverse sources of income to support the ever-increasing educational needs and goals of people of Hawaiian ancestry.
