Module Facilities Used for Middle School and PE/Athletics Moved Off KS Kapalama Campus

July 9, 2012

Contributed by Pakalani Bello

The 24 total modules included 17 main classroom modules for the middle school, shower and toilet facilities for both the middle school and Kūnuiākea Field, and administrative buildings for PE/Athletics and the middle school.

The KS Kapālama middle school modules were used for both the 2010-11 and 2011-12 school years while the new middle school was being built. The new middle school buildings are set to be available for the start of the new school year in August, as middle school administration has already moved into one of the main buildings, named Ka‘oleioku, in late May.

The clearing out of the modules will allow for the start of construction of the other middle school buildings, including two new dormitories, which are scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2013, and a fitness center, that is expected to be finished in early 2014.
