October 15, 2010

Kaniho stated in a letter that he looks forward to spending more time with his daughter and son. He'll be coaching his son's volleyball, baseball and grappling teams and is eager to be a bigger part of his children's childhood experiences.

"Guy Kaniho has done an outstanding job in his short run as Program Head of our Boys Volleyball program," said associate athletic director, Blane Gaison. "Though we are disappointed that he'll be leaving Kamehameha, we wish he and his family the utmost best as they plan on spending more quality time together as a family."

A search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
