"Hosting the event gives us an opportunity to showcase our school and students for an international audience," says KS College Counselor Amy Sato, site coordinator for the event. "It also gives us a chance to share the aloha spirit with our visiting colleagues." Faculty members from around the country have been selected for their dynamic presentation and facilitation abilities and have outstanding qualifications and excellent records of student success. All are endorsed College Board consultants (current readers of the AP Exam) and will provide resources and teaching strategies that have contributed to the success of their students. The AP Program began over 40 years ago to give students an opportunity to complete college-level studies while still in high school and to obtain college placement, credit or both, on the basis of their performance on the AP Examinations. The AP Program is one of the best known programs of The College Board, a national nonprofit membership association dedicated to preparing, inspiring, and connecting students to college and opportunity. Other College Board programs include the SAT, the PSAT/NMSQT and Pacesetter. For more information on the AP Institute, call Amy Sato at 842-8254.
