Kamehameha Schools Files FY 2007 Form 990 Tax Return

Highlights from the tax return include Kamehameha Schools' education of more than 6,700 students in its Preschool through Grade 12 programs, and nearly 36,000 other Hawaiian learners in Kamehameha Schools programs and other collaborations statewide. In addition, Kamehameha awarded more than $32 million in financial aid and scholarships to 9,106 recipients. The awards included $16.3 million in post-high school scholarships to Kamehameha and non-Kamehameha students, $9.5 million in financial aid and scholarships to Kamehameha students in grades K-12, $1.1 million in financial aid and scholarships to Kamehameha and non Kamehameha preschool students, nearly $1 million in summer and enrichment financial aid and $4.3 million in financial aid and school scholarships to Pauahi Keiki Scholars

Spending for all program services totaled approximately $225 million for the year, which included $78 million for community-based early learning and other educational outreach programs. An additional $31 million was spent on capital and major repair projects supporting new and existing programs.
