Feed Me! can be beneficial for two audiences. First, it gives Hawaiian language immersion students a fun tool to learn fundamental knowledge like shapes, colors, numbers, patterns, sizes, etc. But it also is a great way for anyone who may be interested in learning to use basic 'ōlelo Hawai'i.
"We're thrilled that keiki and kupuna alike are enjoying learning 'ōlelo Hawai'i basics with Feed Me!" Kamehameha Publishing Director Kehau Abad said. "It's intuitive, no-stress, approach makes learning fun for everyone. The hungry purple tutua (monster) is a great teacher!"
The application is much like other versions of the Feed Me! app, but all in Hawaiian language. Edutainment Resources Inc. also has versions of the game in many different languages, including English, Spanish, Japanese, French, German, Korean, Italian and Chinese. Kamehameha Publishing funded the retooling of the game by providing Hawaiian language translations, cultural support and vocal talent to ensure proper use of the Hawaiian language.
