Adams, who joins Kamehameha Schools on August 1, 2009, will oversee the following sports: air riflery; riflery; softball and boys and girls cross country, tennis, water polo, diving, soccer and track and field. She replaces long-time associate athletic director Erv Kau who retired earlier this summer after 26 years of service.

"We are very pleased to have Glennie join our ‘ohana as an associate athletic director," said Kanani Souza, KS athletic director. "Glennie is an outstanding coach and mentor and her extensive background in high school and college athletics is a plus for Kamehameha Schools."

A 1978 graduate of Kamehameha Schools, Adams lettered in track and field, volleyball, softball and basketball. She graduated from the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo (UH-Hilo) with a degree in psychology and earned a master's degree in social work from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.

Prior to joining Kamehameha Schools, Adams served as assistant athletics director and head coach for the women's volleyball team at Chaminade University of Honolulu. Additionally, Adams was responsible for overseeing the Carlson Fitness Center, counseling student athletes, coordinating on-site game management and serving as NCAA compliance officer for the university.

Her previous coaching experience includes UH-Hilo, Punahou School, Kamehameha Schools and University High School. Adams was inducted into the NCAA Hall of Fame in 1990 and the UH-Hilo Vulcan Hall of Honor in 2004.
