CEO Message: Marsha Bolson is our new VP for Community Relations and Communications

February 23, 2012

Contributed by ksinfo

Marsha will lead a very strong team of creative, passionate and highly skilled professionals who have embraced their role as communication strategists and innovative storytellers of our mission and our strategic plans.

"Our CRC team is incredible!" Marsha said. "It is an honor for me to lead them in the innovative and meaningful work they are doing. I am convinced that the years ahead will be some of the most extraordinary times for our Schools, and I am excited about all the ways we can collaborate, innovate and engage with our communities!"

Throughout Marsha's 30+ years at Kamehameha she has gained a wide and deep understanding of our mission, our Schools and the successes and challenges we face. She began her journey as a Communications Specialist, leading and directing staff in areas of communication, community and government relations, distance learning, and educational technology. She helped reestablish the Kamehameha Schools Press more than 25 years ago, and most recently, has integrated brand management and new media to support KS' strategic initiatives.

Marsha was born and raised in Kailua, O'ahu. She graduated from Kamehameha Schools, and then earned both a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and an Executive Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa. Marsha serves on the boards of the Domestic Violence Action Center, and Hawaii's Junior Miss, Inc., and is a life member and scholarship trustee of the Hawaiian Civic Club of Honolulu. She is married and has three children and a granddaughter.

Marsha officially commences her new duties today, February 23, 2012. Please join me in congratulating and supporting Marsha and her team's good work!
