In Ann's 6 years at Kamehameha Schools, she has consistently shown herself to be an innovative, passionate and visionary leader whose persistence and unwavering aloha for our mission and our people has protected, nurtured and lifted our souls. I remember my first meeting with Ann on the phone from Geneva, Switzerland, before I returned home to join Kamehameha Schools. She made the miles between Geneva and home disappear as she shared with great confidence and excitement the road that we both would share. Since then, through both joyous and tough times, Ann has never left our side. She and her team in Community Relations and Communications have told our stories well. They have built a level of expertise and excellence in their kuleana that will support us well into the next decade.
Ann is so well respected in multiple communities for her strategic thinking, her excellence in her work and her results. It is no wonder, then, that Hawaiian Airlines would notice her work and the heart from which it comes. It is also no wonder that Ann would be inspired by the opportunity to work for a hallmark of our community that aspires to be a global leader in world travel while still keeping its long-standing commitment to home. I wish Ann only the best of travels as she represents us well.
The blessing she leaves with us is a spectacular team! They are brilliant, dedicated and creative in their work. They have their fingers in all that we do at Kamehameha, offering their kokua with vital strategic projects throughout the organization. I know we can rely upon them to continue their progress on many fronts as Ann has supported them in being strong individual contributors as well as a very strong team.
Heading the CRC team as Interim Vice President will be Marsha Bolson. Marsha, besides being one of the strongest leaders in my class of '70, is a professional that has led in our Schools for over 30 years. She is well versed in the priorities and projects that Ann and her team have committed to and is very well respected by all who know her. We are in good hands with her leadership and that of the CRC team. I will begin the process of recruitment for a new Vice President immediately, with plans to complete the process by January 2012. Please give Marsha and her team the energy and support they will need to carry out their good work.
Ann, on behalf of our Trustees, your colleagues on the executive team and all of the 'ohana of Kamehameha Schools we say, "Me 'oe ko mākou aloha pumehana e Kealohi. May the warmth of our aloha be with you, Kealohi."
Me kealoha,
Dee Jay Mailer
