Adjustments to 2002-03 Budget Process Forthcoming

December 11, 2001

Contributed by CEO Message

1. Reinforce our commitment to empower operating units with control over their budgets;
2. Reduce the 2002-03 targeted percentage for budget reallocation;
3. Allow time for more inclusive decision-making at the program level to formulate budget reallocation recommendations;
4. Continue to support the development of an Education Plan that helps define quality education and sets priorities; and
5. Reaffirm commitment to Strategic Plan implementation by clarifying system-wide decision-making.

Details regarding these initiatives will be forthcoming within a few days. In the interim, thank you for your comments, and for your ongoing support of this new and exciting vision for expanding the reach of Pauahi's legacy. Your work and your dedication continues to make a significant impact in the lives of Hawaiian families ñ and together, I know we can do even more.

Mahalo nui loa,
Hamilton McCubbin, CEO
