Upcoming ‘Lāhui Rising’ event focuses on kānaka ʻōiwi representation in movies, TV and theater

Kumu, haumāna, ʻohana and all members of our kaiāulu are invited to attend a dynamic panel conversation about the telling of Hawaiian stories and representation of Hawaiians on stage, film, and TV. Kaʻiwakīloumoku Pacific Indigenous Institute is proud to present “Kānaka Onscreen: Who’s Telling Our Stories?” This in-person event will be held at our center on May 2, 2023 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

KS Kapālama to host Polynesian Bowl set to air live on NFL Network

The Polynesian Football Hall of Fame 2023 Polynesian Bowl will broadcast live on the NFL Network from KS Kapālama’s Kūnuiākea Stadium Friday, Jan. 20 at 4 p.m. and will feature multi-sport KSK athlete senior Scotty Dikilato on one of two all-star teams.

The Polynesian Bowl is an all-star game played annually in Hawai‘i featuring 100 of the nation’s top high school seniors, many of whom go on to play at top-level college programs.
