The Warrior wāhine outrigger canoe paddlers from KS Kapālama continued their run as the most successful team in state history by claiming the HHSAA/Hawaiian Airlines state title Saturday afternoon at Keehi Lagoon.
The triumph, which came by nearly eight seconds over Punahou, marked the Warriors’ ninth state championship since the sport was sanctioned in 2002. The boys squad, which won the state title in 2019, came up just short of repeating and claimed second place, finishing 5.3 seconds behind rival Punahou.
