Though nearly nine months have passed since the tragic Lahaina fires, our hearts and attention remain with all those affected as we see the ongoing need to mālama Lahaina and its ʻohana and kaiāulu.
Our heartfelt aloha goes out to the island of Maui, to all its residents, and to every member of our extended Kamehameha Schools ʻohana affected by the devastating wildfires.
As we start the 2022-2023 school year, we do so with a renewed sense of hope and optimism having learned and grown so much over the last few years.
In the past few weeks, we have enthusiastically welcomed back our haumāna. Their joy in being here in person with their kumu, friends, and entire school ‘ohana is incomparable. However, their return also comes at a time of new uncertainties.
