Student achievement: Freshman Lei-Mesha Desalla highlighted for racing success

Freshman Lei-Mesha Desalla was recentely featured in the Hawaiʻi Tribune-Herald for her perseverance and performance in the Harry Kerr High School Drag Racing Series. 

Writer Bart Wright profiled Desalla and Waiakea student Tyler Brown for his Wright On column for the paper, highlighting the growth of the racing series and the achievements of these students. 

From race organizer Harry Kerr - 

"She became a dominating racer this year, she took home three wins, back-to-back-to back, we called her the ‘Triple Crown Queen,’ and no doubt, she is one of the best up-and-coming racers we have.”
