One of the special things accomplished this year was the creation of our Kauhale Alumni Band. Bringing back and uniting alumni, along with ʻohana and community members for a special performance in February. Reconnecting our ʻohana with their love of music.

The work to bring this together was recently highlighted in the I Mua Newsroom

"We’re looking forward to another meaningful season of music, connection, and community," shared Mr. Willie Harris, high school band kumu. "This special ensemble brings together alumni from all Kamehameha Schools campuses, as well as members of our broader community."

Here is their set from the band festival in February. They did amazing!

And Mr. Harris, Mr. Kinoshita, and Mr. Kawakami are planning to do it again for the 2025-2026 school year! This special ensemble brings together alumni from all Kamehameha Schools campuses, as well as members of our broader community. To help us plan, please take a moment to sign up using this form. Rehearsals will begin on August 13, and we will have an instrument for you if you don't have one yourself.
