On Saturday night, in an all-BIIF final, senior Kamalu Anahu scored the biggest win in a 6-1 victory over familiar foe and friend Hana Kahoʻo Kaulana of Hilo, claiming the Boys 160 lb. weight class state championship in the HHSAA Wrestling tournament.
Anahu was quick to credit Ke Akua in this achievement. He told the Star-Advertiser's Hawaii Prep-World, “Honestly it wasn’t me, it was God. I just believed that God would bring something good and He came through and my prayers were answered. Hard work came with it, but it was God.”
His teammates and classmates were ecstatic, with many posting message of congratulations on social media and describing the tremendous leader he is and work ethic and humility he shows.
