Nā Hīmeni Kalikiano: Holy is the Lord

May 6, 2026

Nā Hīmeni Kalikiano is a monthly offering of mele and pule led by nā kahu of Ke Kula ʻo Kamehameha. These familiar songs and heartfelt prayers help us grow our relationship with Ke Akua, grounding our daily lives in love, service and spiritual discipline.

The greatest attribute of God is holiness. Yes, God is love, mercy, grace, forgiveness, and more, but above all, Ke Akua is holy. In God there is no fault, no impurity, no imperfection — nothing but pure perfection and sacredness. Holy is the Lord our God; the three in one!

Prayer for a pure heart and mind

E ke Akua e ke Aliʻi ʻo Iesū, hemolele, hemolele, hemolele ʻoe e ka Haku o nā pūʻali, ua piha nō ka honua i kou nani. Ke hoʻomana nei mākou iā ʻoe i ka nani o kou hemolele, a ke noi aku nei mākou i kou lokomaikaʻi i hiki iā mākou ke ola i ke ʻano kūpono no kou inoa. E hoʻihoʻi mai i ka maʻemaʻe o ko mākou naʻau a me ko mākou noʻonoʻo, i hiki iā mākou ke hōʻike i kou hemolele ma kā mākou mau manaʻo, kā mākou mau ʻōlelo, a me kā mākou mau hana i kēia lā.

Ma ka inoa ʻo Iesū Kristo, ʻĀmene.

Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts, the whole earth is full of Your glory. We worship You in the beauty of Your holiness and ask for Your grace to live in a manner worthy of Your name. Cleanse our hearts and minds, helping us to reflect Your holiness in our thoughts, words, and actions today.

In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
