Senior Kahiau Kiyuna receives the award from UH Hilo Interim Chancellor Marcia Sakai

KS Hawai'i senior wins scholarship to UH Hilo

Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi senior Kahiau Kiyuna recently won the UH Hilo Chancellor’s Award at the Hawaiʻi District Science and Engineering Fair on Saturday, Feb. 17.

With the award comes one-year tuition to UH Hilo.

Kiyuna’s project on sandalwood mulch and koa seedlings earned him top honors at the KS Hawaiʻi Senior Expo science academy showcase, which allowed him to advance to compete at the next level.
