For Ke Kula ʻo Kamehameha, the kula kiʻekiʻe winter sports season proved to be one for the record books. Our girls and boys earned multiple state titles. Hulō!

Pōwāwae no nā wāhine

The tournament season “kicked” into high gear with the Kamehameha Schools Kapālama girls soccer team winning the DI state title. They beat Punahou 3-1 on Jan. 31 to claim their first title since 2022.

Hoe Waʻa

Ke Kula ‘o Kamehameha Kapālama earned two canoe paddling titles at the state championship tournament on Feb. 7 at Keʻehi Lagoon. The KS Kapālama girls and the mixed team were crowned DI champs in their respective categories.

Pāʻani pōhīnaʻi no nā wāhine

The KS Kapālama girls basketball team are back-to-back champs! They claimed the DI title on Feb. 6 at the Stan Sheriff Center by beating ‘Iolani for the fourth time this season. Senior Nihoa Dunn earned her second Honolulu Star-Advertiser All-State player of the year honor. Head coach Pua Straight also earned her second coach of the year honor.

ʻAu wai a me luʻu wai

Swimmers from Ke Kula ‘o Kamehameha Maui and Kapālama earned top honors at the state swimming and diving championships hosted Feb. 13-14 at Ke Kula ‘o Kamehameha Hawaiʻi.

KS Maui’s Cruz Storer earned a pair of state titles. He was tops in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle.

KS Kapalāma’s David Wong also earned two state titles. He won the 100-yard butterfly and finished in a first-place tie in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Hākōkō

The boys of Ke Kula ‘o Kamehameha Kapālama have pulled off the three-peat, claiming the overall wrestling team title on Feb. 28 at the Neal Blaisdell Center.  

Our boys and girls also earned numerous individual titles.

Boys:

106-pound division: Braven Moore, KS Kapālama

132-pound division: Paliku Chang, KS Kapālama

Girls:

115-pound division: Auriana Wahinekona, KS Kapālama

130-pound division: Leann Suzuki, KS Kapālama

190-pound division: Hiʻilei Tuikolongahau, KS Kapālama
