Shelli Kim was named the interim vice president of Hi‘ialo in March 2025. With over 25 years of experience in early childhood education, she has dedicated her career to serving keiki, ‘ohana and kumu within Kamehameha Schools, focusing on creating strong educational foundations grounded in ‘ike Hawai‘i.
Since joining Kamehameha Schools in 1998, she has held leadership roles in early childhood education — including kumu, program manager, and associate director. In 2019, she assumed the role of po‘o kula for KS Preschools, where she oversees educational programming and operations for 30 preschools across the pae ‘āina, serving 1,700 keiki and their ‘ohana. She holds a master’s degree in education — curriculum and instruction with a specialization in Early Childhood Education.
Kim participates in several education committees, where she contributes to enhancing systems and supports for early learning across the pae ‘āina. Her committee involvement includes the UH Mānoa College of Education’s Teacher Education Committee (TEC) for Elementary and Early Childhood Education, Native Hawaiian Education Council and Honolulu Community College’s Early Childhood Education Advisory Committee.
