Kamuela Cobb-Adams, O‘ahu senior director of regional strategies for the Community Engagement & Resources Group.
Kamehameha Schools (KS) named Kaua‘i County’s former Director of Housing, Kamuela Cobb-Adams, as its new O‘ahu Island senior director of regional strategies for the Community Engagement & Resources Group (CE&R) – a new group created through the Schools’ recently delivered strategic plan for 2015-2020, Kūhanauna.
Cobb-Adams began his new role at KS on November 16. He is responsible for overseeing CE&R’s operations and collaborations within five regions that span the island of O‘ahu. Using a community-based approach to design and implement educational and land management strategies, Cobb-Adams’ work will focus on connecting KS’ programs, services, lands and resources within the communities KS interacts with and seeks to support.
Before taking his position on Kaua‘i, Cobb-Adams worked in various management and leadership positions at the Department of Hawaiian Homelands and as the executive director of the Kahuku Housing Foundation on his home island of O‘ahu.
On Kaua‘i, he chaired the Kaua‘i County Affordable Housing Task Force and served on the Leadership and Oversight Committee for the Kaua‘i Community Health Improvement Initiative.
“I’m happy that Kamuela accepted this position, and I’m very confident in his ability to help KS be better integrated into the community throughout O‘ahu, leading us toward even greater effectiveness in achieving the desired educational outcomes in each,” said Kā‘eo Duarte, VP of Community Engagement & Resources.
Cobb-Adams enters Kamehameha with a degree in education and a diverse background in community development, government relations, strategic planning, real estate, and business experience spanning 16 years.
“I’m greatly honored to have been chosen as part of CE&R’s ‘ohana, and I’m excited to begin working on my kuleana to ensure that KS’ operations and resources are maximized within each region,” Cobb-Adams said.
