Health Services

The staff of the Health Services Department provide clinical assessments, first aid, and initial urgent/emergency care for all students. All health rooms across the campuses are staffed by a Registered Nurse (RN) who may be supported by a Medical Assistant. An Advanced Practice Registered Nurse oversees the care provided by Nurses.

The Health Services Department does not replace your child’s primary care provider or patient-centered medical home but becomes part of your child’s healthcare team or medical neighborhood. Students who are assessed to require more healthcare than can be provided on campus are recommended to receive healthcare in the community.

Services provided to students include, but are not limited to:

  • medical clearance
  • basic healthcare services for acute conditions
  • disease management assistance
  • medication administration

When your child has their well-child physical examination throughout the year, it’s a recommended good practice to have the healthcare provider complete the applicable KS health form (i.e. Physical Evaluation for K-12 students and Student Health Record/Supplement for preschool students). Parents can then submit the form to KS through the parent portal, and it will be reviewed for the following yearʻs medical clearance. Through the parent portal, you can view the date of the last physical exam we have on record.

For additional information, please see your campus’ student and parent handbook.

Please notify your child’s healthroom of any changes to your child’s health.
