HŌʻIKE 2025: ʻEMALANI - Night 1
Thursday, March 13, 2025
at 6:00pm -
8:00 pm
Location: Koaiʻa Gymnasium
Originally performed by the Hawaiʻi Youth Opera Chorus in 2014, ʻEMALANI: Scenes from the Life of Queen Emma is an opera written by kumu Herb Mahelona.
The opera spans the entire life of Queen Emma and highlights many significant events in her life and in the history of Hawaiʻi. It is presented in English and ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi.
Hōʻike is a special tradition of the Kamehameha Hawaiʻi high school, sharing moʻolelo from our history in dynamic and entertaining ways. Hōʻike 2025 will be presented twice, once on Thursday, once on Friday before Spring Break in our Koaiʻa Gymnasium. Shows will start at 6 p.m. Tickets will be available in 2025 on our Kamehameha Hawaiʻi GoFan page.
