The intent of the gather is to provide an opportunity where students/ʻohana, faculty and staff can come together and huli ka lima i lalo, turn your hands to the soil.

No experience is needed, though participants should bring:

  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Water bottle
  • A picnic lunch
  • Your best self!

For more information email rofloro@ksbe.edu or follow @ks_aina2opu on Instagram to see some of the cool things our kumu and haumāna have been up to in that space and around campus to be more sustainable and mālama our ʻāina to generate more ʻai pono.

For this first-time event, it is limited to Kula Waena families. More opportunities will be available in the future for our entire KS ʻohana should you have an interest in doing this kind of service. Connect with Mr. Floro if you have any manaʻo on what could take place or to express that interest.

The vision for the agroforestry area is to be able to grow staple crops like ʻulu and ʻuala right on campus.
