A new crosswalk by the gym is marked with yellow lanes and lane markers.

New crosswalk is now open for Koaiʻa Gym access

April 8, 2025

A newly delineated crosswalk is now open, providing more direct access to Koaiʻa Gym from the parking lot. A railing has been removed, and yellow lines and lane markers added to identify the crosswalk. Please continue to be makaʻala of your surroundings when near the active construction site and be safe when crossing.

Progress on both our new Koaiʻa and Lunalilo lānai extensions are going well. When completed, the lānai extension will provide a permanent covering with additional space outside of Koaiʻa, which is key for our consessions area and as a waiting space for student athletes. The Lunalilo lānai extension will provide a permanent space for that area as well, while preserving the tamarind tree at the piko of our campus.

Mahalo for your patience and flexibility as we complete these important augmentations to our kula to add additional covered space to two of our most utilized event facilities.

Mālama pono!

When completed, the extension will provide a permanent covering with additional space outside of the gym.

Progress on the Lunalilo extension.
