The Math Matters Competition put on by the Hawaii Society of Professional Engineers was this past weekend, (Saturday) March 5th from 8:30-11:30 at Maui Waena. Eight of our KS Maui Elementary 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders eagerly competed. They participated in both an individual and team test against 14 other Maui Elementary Schools.  

The Math Matters team practiced for the past 3 months and although this year was a particularly hard test, we did great overall.  

All participants completed the test and received a certificate of merit. We had a great time and the students can’t wait to start practicing for next yearʻs competition!
