Both Kamehameha Schools and its community partners depend on data to make informed decisions to improve the outcomes of Native Hawaiians.

A recent survey on the Kamehameha Schools data reference book “Ka Huaka‘i” revealed how KS can make Native Hawaiian data and information more accessible, current, and user-friendly.

Mahalo nui loa to the more than 200 educators, community members, and policy makers who took part in the online survey administered by KS’ Strategy and Innovation (S&I) Group.

STRATEGIC PLAN 2020
SP2020 is a five-year strategic plan that will guide Kamehameha Schools from 2015 to 2020.  The plan marks a starting point toward KS’ vision 2040, which envisions success for all Native Hawaiian learners.

The Ka Huaka‘i survey results shed light on the accessibility, interpretation, content and use of Native Hawaiian data to advance KS’ understanding of the lāhui. This contributes to Goal 4 of SP2020 – transforming KS into a high-performing Native Hawaiian organization. It also supports Action 8 of Kamehameha’s Ten Actions for fiscal year 2017, calling for KS to establish protocol for sharing information with external partners.
