The “Kūhaʻo Maunakea” music collaboration was envisioned to tap into the creative power of the community, and listeners and viewers around the world have responded.
Producers Zachary Lum and Chad Takatsugi, Kamehameha Schools Kapālama graduates and KS employees, were supported by executive producer Kanaeokana (the network of Native Hawaiian schools of which KS is a member) in creating the compilation album and accompanying music video featuring 18 new compositions by award-winning artists. So far, it has been viewed more than one million times across social media channels and has out-performed The Beatles on digital music streaming platforms.
