The Kamehameha Schools Warrior surf team recently finished fourth in the high school division, and eighth in the middle school division, in the 2012 National Scholastic Surfing Association Interscholastic Surfing Competition at Salt Creek in Dana Point, Calif. The fourth-place finish in the high school division marked the first-ever team trophy for Kamehameha.
 

KS Kapālama 2012 graduate Ezekiel Lau finished second overall in the men's high school shortboard division, with KSK sophomore-to-be Cayla Moore taking fourth in the women's high school shortboard division.

Kahia Walker, who will be a freshman at KSK in the fall, took fourth in the boy's middle school longboard division, with Kawai DeVault, a freshman-to-be from KS Maui, finishing sixth in the girl's middle school shortboard division.
 

The team made the most of the trip to Southern California, making a college visit to the University of Southern California, visiting the California Science Center and the Transworld Surf Magazine facility in Carlsbad, Calif. During the trip, the team also visited Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Knott's Berry Farm and many other places.
 

This is the third consecutive year that Kamehameha took a team to the NSSA championships, where the team had two seventh-place finishes prior.
