Kamehameha Schools lands on O‘ahu’s North Shore are now home to the largest renewable energy operation in Hawai‘i with the completion of Kawailoa Solar. The wind and solar projects at Kawailoa produce a combined 118 megawatts of electricity: enough energy to power approximately 60,000 homes.
Developer Clearway Energy Group, in partnership with Hawaiian Electric Company, Moss Solar, KS and others, held a traditional Hawaiian blessing for three grid-scale projects – including Kawailoa Solar – that went online today.
