Recently, our entire campus staff and leadership went through an engaging Active Threat Training that was such a blessing to us. The presenters from Blueline Solutions were incredible and after the first day of training our Poʻo Kula Kāhealani Naeʻole-Wong addressed us and paid tour trainers the highest compliment with this insightful message, “They each have the heart of a teacher, and teaching is the most important role there is.” Yes, their goal was to help us save lives, and they shared their ways, and their truths of how to accomplish this sacred objective of protecting our haumāna through preparation and strategic thinking. Lord willing there will never be a need, but if there is we are better prepared. But why would we listen to them? Easy, they were the experts, the research that went into choosing their training over others revealed that they were the best in class. Their professional resumes were extensive, and they were articulate, accurate, and engaging. It was beautiful teaching. We listened to them because we believed in them.

Jesus is simply saying, “I am the WAY!” to eternal life and freedom from the entanglements of sin. He is not saying that he is one way out of many ways. Yet, Jesus selflessly delivers his loving message with a sincere heart of confidence in knowing who he is. Who is he? He is the best in class, the Son of the living God. He was an expert in providing spiritual, social, and emotional wellness because, during his 3-year ministry, Jesus healed and fed multitudes. Throughout his ministry, Jesus stood up for those less supported and nourished their hearts and minds with truth and love. Jesus even taught with such authority that even some well-known seasoned Jewish priests were not only inclined to listen to his messages, but they followed him. He was articulate, accurate, and engaged everyone he met with the heart of more than a teacher, but as the divine Savior and Friend. Life can hurt at times, and so can a word of truth when it is directed to you for discipline and improvement. However, there is a WAY that you can experience it with faith that will positively build your character, hope that will encourage your endurance in all things and a love that will deeply connect you to others. Jesus is the WAY. I choose to believe in Jesus, what about you?
