I will also uphold you with My righteous right hand.- Isaiah 41:10

He Manaʻo o ke Kahu Kalani Wong, KS Maui
We recently took our moʻopuna strawberry picking at a local farm in Upcountry Maui.  There were a number of rows they could have gone down but they chose to stay close to one another. We urged them to spread out and head further down the rows towards the end where the strawberries had been less picked over.  There would be larger fruit in that area.  But they chose to stick close to one another, often clamoring for the same luscious looking treat.  What made them hesitate to go after the larger, more abundant fruit? We were there watching them so they would never be out of our sight, so it wasn’t about being left alone.  Were they more interested in taking the sure but smaller harvest?

Sometimes something greater lies ahead but we are hesitant to go after it.  We like it in the here and now, where we are comfortable.  There are countless examples in the Bible where God keeps telling his people to step out in faith and he would be with them.  In Genesis 12, Abram received the call from God-
“Go from your country,
And from your relatives
And from your father’s house,
To the land which I will show you;

God promised Abram that if he stepped in faith, he would be rewarded-
And I will make you into a great nation,
And I will bless you,
And make your name great;
And you shall be a blessing;

Similarly, Joshua was tapped to take over the leadership of the Hebrew people from Moses.  God assured him that he would not be stepping into this role alone.
5 No one will be able to oppose you all the days of your life. Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not desert you nor abandon you. 6 Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. (Joshua 1:5-6)

Keep your ear out for the call of God.  When he speaks, challenging you to go beyond, do so with the knowledge that we do not go alone. Ke Akua will always walk along side of us, taking us to the place where we are called to be, to the place where blessings and great fruit abound.
