Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi kula kiʻekiʻe recently held a Poʻo Kula-Poʻo Kumu luncheon to reward and recognize a record number of high school haumāna named to either the Poʻo Kula (earning a 4.0 or above) or Poʻo Kumu (earning a 3.5-3.99) for the first semester of this school year. Fifty students were named to the Poʻo Kula list and 177 to the Poʻo Kumu list, making it the largest celebration high school has hosted, making Kumu Lehua very proud.
Haumāna were able to enjoy a steak plate lunch along with raffle prizes and activities.
“This is the biggest celebration we’ve ever had with half of the high school here today,” shared Poʻo Kula Kāhealani Naeʻole-Wong.
“We want to say hoʻomaikaʻi, how proud of you we are, and mahalo nui for all of your hard work.”
Another special part of the luncheon, was in honoring the 18 seniors who have achieved Poʻo Kula or Poʻo Kumu list honors for seven consecutive semesters.

Seniors like Pomaikaʻi Evans-Bautista, who have achieved this distinction for seven consecutive semesters, received a special congratulations and award for this prestigious distinction.
Honorees receive a pin for their achievement.
Honorees enjoyed a special steak plate lunch with dessert and were all entered into a raffle to win special goodie baskets.
