Aug. 26, 2024

For ʻohana considering Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi for their keiki, the application window for grades K, 6, and 9 for the 2025-2026 school year opened on Thursday, August 15. Complete your application by September 30.

Before applications open, there are a few steps you can take to ensure your ʻohana is mākaukau:

  1. Know what grade levels are accepting applications
Ensure your child is entering one of our eligible grade levels in the 2025-2026 school year. For our Hawaiʻi campus that means grades K, 6, and 9. Kindergarten (K) applicants must be 5 years old by July 31st of the year in which they will be entering school and verify age eligibility.
  2. Secure a copy of your keiki's report card
All families who are applying for fourth grade and higher will need to submit a copy of their keiki's report card from last year. For our campus, applying to grades 6 or 9, the deadline for your keiki's report card is by October 31, 2024.
  3. Verify your Hawaiian ancestry
For consideration under Kamehameha Schools' preference policy, you can verify your Hawaiian ancestry, even in advance of starting your application. Register with Kamehameha Schools Ho‘oulu Verification Services to start the ancestry verification process. Kamehameha Schools’ policy is to give preference to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law.

You can start your application at ksbe.edu/apply. There you can also see some of the many resources to kōkua you with the process, frequently asked questions, and more. Mahalo for considering Kamehameha Schools for your keiki!
