Kamehameha Schools was founded by the will of Bernice Pauahi Bishop, the great-granddaughter of Kamehameha the Great.
This final Advent reflection focuses on ke aloha: the love made real in the arrival of Jesus Christ. It reminds us that Advent is not only about remembering Jesus’ birth but about recognizing Ke Akua’s presence with us in our everyday lives. In that same spirit, Ke Aliʻi Bernice Pauahi Bishop showed her love for her people through the founding of Kamehameha Schools, a gift that continues to shape our lives. As we celebrate Founder’s Day, let us carry that love in our hearts and let it guide how we care for one another and ʻāina.
