Scholarships for haumāna at partner private schools

Kamehameha Schools is transitioning a scholarship program established in partnership with seven private schools — Saint Mark Lutheran, Saint Louis School, St. Andrew’s Schools, Island Pacific Academy, Assets School, Aka‘ula School and Island School — to a direct scholarship program from KS. Additionally, these schools will be added to our Kipona Scholarship program in the next scholarship awarding cycle, opening additional scholarship opportunities for eligible families at these institutions.

You should have received a letter from your child’s school directing you to visit this webpage for more information.

If you have questions, please call our Resource Center at (808) 534-8080. Our staff can help you determine if you are eligible for a scholarship in a particular category.

What you need to know

You have been directed to this webpage because you received a letter from KS and the private school that your child attends regarding the transition of your keiki’s scholarship into a direct scholarship from KS. Now that KS is directly administering your scholarship award, we are excited to welcome you and your keiki into the KS Kaiāulu ‘ohana!

Please find more information below on the eligibility requirements, application process, and resources KS is providing to support you through this transition.

To remain eligible to receive the scholarship annually, families must meet the following conditions:

  • This scholarship is non-transferrable. This funding cannot be transferred to another school or to another recipient.
  • Keiki must maintain continuous enrollment at their current school. If a recipient decides to leave the school for any reason, their award will be terminated and will not be reinstated even if they enroll back into the school in a future year.
  • Keiki must successfully maintain academic progression. Recipients must successfully pass to the next grade each year to be eligible for continued support. KS will confirm this with your keiki’s school.
  • ‘Ohana must complete a Community Service Requirement. Recipients and their ‘ohana will be required to fulfill community service hours.
    • 10 service hours a year for keiki in grades K to 3
    • 15 service hours a year for keiki in grades 4 to 5
    • 20 service hours a year for keiki in grades 6 to 12
  • ‘Ohana must submit an annual update into the FACTS system. Annually, recipients will be required to submit information into the FACTS system over the duration of their support.
  • ‘Ohana must pay an application fee. However, there is no application fee for this application cycle.
  • ‘Ohana must confirm legal guardianship/custody of the keiki. KS will require confirmation of Legal Guardianship/Custody.

KS will verify your keiki’s attendance and scholarship at one of these partner schools as a part of the process.
