About me

Aloha My name is Roger Patao, This year will be the beginning of my fourteenth year as a teacher at Kamehameha Schools Maui. Before teaching at Kamehameha Schools, I was employed by the State of Hawaii Department of Education for sixteen years. I feel so blessed and honored to be here to fulfill Bernice Pauahi Bishop’s vision. I was born and raised on the island of Maui and enjoyed all the natural resources available during my youth and adult life. I was encouraged by my father to become a teacher and have no regrets taking his advise and choosing that path. My formal educational degrees includes: Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Professional Diploma Five-Year Course of Study for teachers in Secondary Education and a Masters of Curriculum Development and Instruction. I enjoy teaching and relating to the middle school students but the most joy comes from watching the students develop into young adults contributing positively to the community and society. I truly believe every student can learn with the encouragement and support of all people who come in contact with the student. I continue to persevere to become a better teacher, colleague and person by the grace God.Mahalo, Roger
