About me

Born and raised in Lahaina, Maui, I am a proud graduate of The Kamehameha Schools - Kapālama (1986). I was fortunate to attend Willamette University in Salem, Oregon where I obtained a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology. I found my passion for working in education through experiences with the Oregon Department of Education and the Hawaii Department of Education.I furthered my education by obtaining a Masters in Education Degree in Counseling and Guidance from the University of Hawaii - Manoa. In 1995 I found my way back to Maui where I worked at Baldwin and Lahainaluna High Schools. In 2002 I was blessed to serve our beloved Princess and the Kamehameha Schools Maui Community as the high school counselor. In the next few years I worked with the high school team in developing high school programs in both the academic and co-curricular areas. It was a pleasure to be involved with athletics and be the first high school football head coach and later assist with starting the girls water polo program.In 2010 I switched roles and became the Hope Po'o Kumu (vice principal) at the high school where I continued to work with students on planning for their future, learning life skills and making good choices. During the 2020-2021 School Year, I moved into a new role as the Luna Lawelawe Kāko'o Haumāna (Dean of Student Support Services). It has been a blessing for me to work with our School Counselors and Dean of Students. What a wonderful group of individuals to work with on our Maui Campus. I continue to look forward in building positive relationships and embracing our cultural values with all of our staff, haumana and KSM 'Ohana.
