About me

Aloha mai kākou! I have been privileged to work, in the field of education, in the same Maui community that I was born and raised in. After earning my Bachelorʻs of Education in Secondary English and a Professional Diploma in Education from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, I began teaching high school English at H.P. Baldwin High School. I then earned a Masterʻs of Education from Heritage College. While at Baldwin High, I taught 10th grade Language Arts and was also the Yearbook advisor for nine years. In 2002, I started my career with Kamehameha Schools Maui as the 7th grade English teacher in the newly built Middle School before moving to teach Language Arts at the high school for another 2 years. I was also fortunate to be able to work with Kamehameha Schools Distance Learning Department as a curriculum developer, on-line instructor and manager for 6 years. My work with Distance Learning allowed me to work with many departments and divisions across the Kamehameha Schools system and allowed me to serve the larger Hawaiian community through distance learning outreach efforts. Returning home to KS Maui as the K-12 Curriculum Director in 2011, has been a highlight of my career. Under the guidance of many amazing leaders and mentors and in collaboration with committed colleagues, I am blessed to be able to continue to support and serve the KS Maui ʻohana. I am the proud mother of 3 sons who have attended Pūnana Leo and Ke Kula Kaiapuni o Maui and enjoy spending my time at their many school and sporting events.
