In 2008 I earned my Bachelor's of Arts in Hawaiian Studies from Ke Kula Nui ʻO Hawaiʻi ma Mānoa. In 2009, garnered the privillage of becoming Miss Aloha Hula 2009 at the prestigious Merrie Monarch Hula Festival. In 2010I became a kumu ʻike Hawaiʻi and Hawaiian Ensemble advisor here at Kamehameha ʻAʻapueo. Currently, I reside in Waiohuli with my husband of 10 years, Nakilihau Tanaka, and our three keiki. In August of 2020, through ʻūniki ʻailolo rites, I became one of two Kumu Hula of Maui based hālau hula, Hālau Keʻalaokamaile. My passion is rooted in my Hawaiian heritage and I am driven by my determination to develop culturally rooted locally and globally engaged ʻōiwi.
