|Title:||Kumu o ka Papa ʻElima|
I am a 32-year veteran educator and still love it more and more each day. I believe in progressive, project-based, student-centered education in an environment of love, joy, and respect. I believe in the incredible potential of every haumāna for academic growth, and make it my mission to help each one to achieve excellence. I desire to see my haumāna embrace a growth mindset and recognize the power of perseverance. I currently serve as kumu o ka Papa ʻElima at Kamehameha Schools Maui. Before coming to Hawaiʻi, I was the secondary co-principal and taught middle school math at Lighthouse Christian School in Twin Falls, Idaho. In this role, I provided instructional leadership, oversaw curriculum design and school improvement planning, and implemented weekly professional development for the faculty. I previously served as the dean of students and the assistant principal for 6th-12h grades.
