About me

This year marks my 18th year teaching at Kamehameha Schools. I currently teach Biology at Pākī. In addition to teaching, I am the club advisor for the Students Give Back Club, which is a community service club that services practices in sustainability, land/ocean management, and giving back to the community. The club is open to grades 9-12 and require students to participate in various community service once a month. I am also involved in athletics as I am assistant coach to Girls Cross Country team. I was also the original Surf Team head coach and retired from the position as I help lead the team to win 7 high school state titles and back-to-back Team National Titles in 2014-2015 in California. I also coach the Kamehameha Track and Field for hurdles and helped coach the team to win its first State Team Title in 2008. I've also taken a few of my science students to USC's marine science program in Catalina Island, where they have won the Quikscience project sponsored by USC and Quiksilver.

Kamehameha Schools’ policy is to give preference to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law.
