Using Ancient Wisdom to Develop a World-Class Hawaiian Culture-Based Curriculum

Kamehameha Schools Hawai'i chemistry teacher Joel Truesdell shares his technique and successes in using Hawaiian culture as a driver in teaching his chemistry curriculum. He presented his culture first based approach at the Pū Paʻakai Lecture Series on July 19, 2018 at Kawaiahaʻo Plaza. In 2017, Truesdell was recognized with the Shell National Science Teacher of the Year Award through the National Science Teacher Association.
