With the intent of discovering a deeper understanding of mele, Kamehameha Schools Kapālama students enrolled in a new Project Kuleana course. Without any prior technical experience, they produced this project after a semester of video production, audio production, and mele, the Hawaiian poetic expression in song. They gained an even more invaluable educational experience, shaping them into the inspirational, Hawaiian leaders of tomorrow. Mahalo nui to Larry Kauanoe Kimura for his mele, Kulaiwi, that celebrates the birthright that is our homeland.
