A sneak peek of the opening number for this years Hō'ike honoring Princess Ruth Ke'elikōlani. Mele Pāleoleo: He Mele No Luka is written and performed by Papa 'ōlelo Hawai'i Makahiki VI. Hō'ike takes place March 12 & 13, 2020. It is our kula’s first hula drama, and the mo'olelo will be told through hula, some modern dance, Hawaiian rap, some live art installations, implements along with the band and of course the voices of our Haumāna in oli and mele.
