Members of the Kamehameha Schools Maui learning community recently identified values that guide the Pukalani campus. These values are pilina, kuleana, kūlia pono and ‘imi na‘auao. KSM will share videos on social media illustrating the values, as part of a series entitled “Ku‘upau” – pushing past limits. Here, KSM Hawaiian Culture-Based Education Learning Designer and Facilitator Ekela Kaniʻaupio-Crozier shares how the power of pilina – or connections – can create a strong and vibrant community by honoring the achievements of beloved kūpuna Les Kuloloio and Harry Mitchell, and sharing the mo‘olelo of Hōkūle‘a’s mahalo visit to Maui.
